Bouclé
Vacuum with brush attachment or lightly brush as needed. Liquids should bead on the surface. Blot spills immediately with a clean, colorfast, dry towel or sponge. For difficult stains, brush any dried residue and gently clean with a mixture of water and mild detergent, followed by lightly rinsing with clean water. If stains persist, professional upholstery cleaning is recommended with water-free pure solvents; do not dry clean. Avoid direct sunlight and sharp objects.

behind the craft
The Making of a Custom Sofa

Building the base
Every piece of your custom sofa is made to order in the U.S., from start to finish. First, the frame: Solid pieces of wood are glued and nailed into place, like a 3-D puzzle.

Preparing the fabric
While the frame is built, the fabric is prepared for upholstering by a maker, tracing, cutting, and sewing the fabric to fit your chosen piece’s frame.
Finishing the legs
Every last detail is completed by skilled artisans—including the application of stains and finishes to the legs of the sofa, seen here.

Final touches
Once your custom piece is outfitted with cushioning, an upholsterer secures the fabric, trimming and perfecting the details. Next stop: your home.
