Centuries of Handcraft
In visiting the factories making pieces for our collection, we got to witness some of this firsthand. It’s mesmerizing to watch chair legs come to life on the lathe or pieces of pottery sculpted and finished by hand.
The pieces—furniture, décor, and wall art—pass through many hands throughout the process, from initial construction to finishing details.
Artisans finish solid pieces of wood on the lathe, coaxing it into curved shapes with deft precision—chair legs destined for a classic wingback silhouette—then upholster the seat by cutting, fitting, and securing ornate fabric.
They hand detail wood and marble tabletops, and bring terracotta pots to life on the wheel.
In Jaipur, history blurs with modernity, tradition mingles with innovation, and the past dances with the present in a delightful waltz.

Treasures of the Pink City

After agriculture, craft is the second-largest employer in India, and it’s in Jaipur that craft flourishes—a legacy of the city’s Mughal heritage. Throughout Jaipur’s busy streets, you’ll find workshops dedicated to each unique trade—it’s here that metalsmiths, weavers, block printers, jewelers, potters, and furniture makers share their expertise.
Materials Make It
All of these processes echo techniques honed centuries ago, brought to life with materials from the world around, like native acacia and mango wood, plus EcoMix, a papier-mâché made from upcycled materials, used to create decorative, earthen vessels. These pieces are a reflection of Jaipur itself, crafted with accessible and eco-conscious materials that blend traditional and contemporary sensibilities.
